PATH (Pennsylvania’s Advanced Training & Hiring) is a joint effort involving Lehigh Carbon Community College, Luzerne County Community College, and Northampton Community College to provide job training for students throughout the region and address graduating students who are prepared for workforce demands well into the future.
Employers will be involved in a variety of ways, including input in curriculum development, identifying apprenticeships and internship opportunities, providing mentors, donating or loaning equipment, involving employees who could benefit from additional training, and giving hiring priority to students who complete the programs.

Advanced Manufacturing Training Program                        

 

This program provides credentials to meet the regional needs for higher skill levels for the manufacturing industry. Training is based on the Advanced Manufacturing Integrated Systems Technology ( AM/IST). Courses are offered through a hybrid delivery system utilizing a combination of on-line and hands-on delivery of instruction, offering maximum flexibility to participants in the program. Courses are offered in the areas of mechanical, electrical, or PLC technologies. All programs are offered on an open-enrollment basis.

Healthcare Technology Specialist Training Program


The Healthcare Technology Specialist (HTS) certificate prepare the student to work in the healthcare environment in non-patient contact areas such as an administrative assistant, medical records assistant, and front desk clerk. This program has three instructors each focusing on their area of expertise. Students will receive computer training in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. They will also learn the fundamentals of data entry utilizing the Medisoft program. Students would also receive instruction in medical terminology and professional communications. Students will receive CPR and First Aid training during the course of the program.  Program participants will have a 32 hour practicum experience to complete their training. Students who earn the HTS certificate have the option to advance their training by articulating into the Health Specialist Technology or Medical Assistant degree programs, or the Medical Billing Specialist Specialized Diploma program.
