Plus, advance your career when you’re ready with credits that can be used toward a future degree. Quickstart is perfect for students interested in Business, Electrical Technology, Healthcare, HVACR, Teacher Education and Visual Arts.
Business Management
This quick start in business management will prepare you for a supervisory role in an office, administrative, or service industry. You will learn the basics of business accounting, get a broad understanding of the careers and organization of the business world, learn necessary skills in office technology and cybersecurity, and improve heavily sought-after communications skills.
Electrical Technology
This quick start in Electrical Technology will allow you to start working in the field while continuing your education to become an Electrician or Electrical Engineering Technician. Coursework will give you a basic understanding of electricity, digital circuit building, programmable controllers, and the ability to read a schematic or system diagram.
Healthcare
This quick start in Healthcare will prepare you for a role in the growing healthcare industry. You will learn about the career paths in the healthcare field, an introduction to health information technology, medical terminology, and communications skills needed to interface with coworkers and patients.
HVACR
This quick start in heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration will prepare you to start working in the field while continuing your education to full HVAC technician status. Coursework will give you a basic understanding of electricity and the ability to read a schematic or system diagram. You will also learn the skills of handling air conditioning and refrigeration with the ability to work on these systems by the summer months.
Teacher Education
This quick start in teacher education will get you onto the pathway as a secondary school teacher. This quick start will walk you through the clearances and professional actions to working in a school. You will be introduced to the history and theory of how education and special education impact the lives of our most important generations. You will also have a chance to develop the general education requirements needed for an educator while learning about the human psyche and the social world around us.
Visual Arts
This quick start in the visual arts will prepare you for a role in the artistic design world. You will learn about the history of art, how to design in two dimensions, an intro to drawing, and how to use color.
