Lehigh Carbon Community College

Students who are interested in continuing their college education and who earn their degree from Lehigh Carbon Community College will be guaranteed admission to Bloomsburg University, thanks to a new transfer agreement signed by the two institutions. LCCC President Dr. Ann D. Bieber and Bloomsburg President Dr. Bashar Hanna signed the partnership at a ceremony on Feb. 8 on the LCCC campus.

After they complete at least 30 credits at LCCC, students must apply for admission to Bloomsburg. They must then graduate with an associate degree in any of LCCC’s majors.

Under this agreement, LCCC graduates will enter Bloomsburg with at least junior standing in a comparable major. They are also guaranteed a renewable transfer scholarship that is based on their academic performance. Depending on the student’s grade point average, these transfer scholarships are valued between $1,500 and $3,000 annually at Bloomsburg. Students must maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.50 and be enrolled full time to remain eligible.

Students will benefit from the streamlined process of earning their associate degree from LCCC, at an affordable price and while remaining close to home. LCCC graduates can then build on their education by earning a baccalaureate degree through this seamless educational partnership. The collaboration between a community college and a state university benefits students by encouraging them to obtain a quality education at a low cost, while also providing the commonwealth with additional qualified graduates.
