Accreditation & Approval

Lehigh Carbon Community College is approved as an institution of higher education by the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The college is authorized to award the Associate in Arts Degree, the Associate in Science Degree, the Associate in Applied Science Degree, certificates, and diplomas in specialized career areas.

2024 – 2027 Accreditation

In 2024 Lehigh Carbon Community College entered the beginning stages of the accreditation process which will culminate in 2027 per the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). This multi-year collaborative process involves important benchmarks including the creation and subsequent approval of a Self-Study Design, Self-Study Report and on-site evaluation by MSCHE.

Middle States Accreditation

Lehigh Carbon Community College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 1007 North Orange Street, 4th Floor, MB #166, Wilmington, DE 19801, 267-284-50 11, www.msche.org. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

2018 Statement of Accreditation Status

The following programs have received additional accreditation or approval:

Accounting Associate Degree

The Accounting Associate Degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Aviation – Professional Pilot Degree

The ground and flight training courses required for the issuance of an airmen certificate within the Aviation – Professional Pilot Degree program is licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Aviation Science Degree

The ground and flight training courses required for the issuance of an airmen certificate within the Aviation Science Degree program is licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Business Administration Associate Degree

The Business Administration Associate Degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Business Management Associate Degree

The Business Management Associate Degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Early Childhood Education – Early Intervention Associate Degree

The Early Childhood Education – Early Intervention Associate Degree at Lehigh Carbon Community College is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, www.naeyc.org. The accreditation term runs from May 2018 through March 2023.

Early Childhood Education Associate Degree

The Early Childhood Education Associate Degree at Lehigh Carbon Community College is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, www.naeyc.org. The accreditation term runs from May 2018 through March 2023.

Human Resource Management Associate Degree

The Human Resource Management Associate Degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Health Information Technology Associate Degree

The Health Information Technology Associate Degree program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

Human Services Associate Degree

The Human Services Associate Degree program is accredited by the Council for Standards in Human Services Education (CSHSE).

Kitchen and Bath Design Associate Degree

The Kitchen and Bath Design Associate Degree program utilizes training materials supplied and supported by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) and follows the NKBA guidelines in all design coursework.

Medical Laboratory Technician Associate Degree

The Medical Laboratory Technician Associate Degree program, through an agreement with Reading Area Community College, is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS).

Nursing Associate Degree

The Nursing Associate Degree program maintains continuing accreditation through the Accreditation Commission For Education In Nursing Inc. (ACEN).
The Nursing Associate Degree program maintains full approval status with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Paralegal Studies Associate Degree

The Paralegal Studies Associate Degree program is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA).

Paralegal Studies Certificate

The Paralegal Studies Certificate program is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA).

Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree

The Physical Therapist Assistant Associate Degree program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

Practical Nursing Certificate

The Practical Nursing Certificate program maintains continuing accreditation through the Accreditation Commission For Education In Nursing Inc. (ACEN).
The Practical Nursing program maintains full approval status with the Pennsylvania State Board or Nursing.

Respiratory Care Associate Degree

The Respiratory Care Associate Degree program, through an agreement with Reading Area Community College, is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (COARC).

Veterinary Technician Associate Degree

The Veterinary Technician Associate Degree program is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities.
