Approved States & Territories for Distance Learning 

Lehigh Carbon Community College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. We’re authorized as an institution of higher education by the state of Pennsylvania.   

NC-Sara Seal of ParticipationLCCC participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA). SARA helps expand students’ access to education by regulating distance education programs. This helps improve the quality of postsecondary distance education programs around the country by establishing national standards.  

LCCC may only offer online courses and internships in other SARA member states in accordance with the terms and provisions of SARA. The state a student resides in while completing an educational activity, such as an internship or an online course, is the state that has authority to regulate the activity.

State Licensing and Credential Requirements

Career positions in certain fields require state licensing and/or credentials based on each state’s requirements. Lehigh Carbon Community College does its best to ensure that the appropriate licensing is obtained or can be obtained by a student graduating our programs. However, we cannot guarantee that all license requirements are met in every state. Our most recent information about licensing by state can be found on these specific program pages.

Out-of-State Student Complaint Process

Students taking online classes at LCCC who are from out of state should attempt to resolve any academic issues or complaints with the College first.

In the unlikely event LCCC is unable to resolve your complaint, students in SARA member states may lodge an appeal with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The SARA consumer protection provisions require the Pennsylvania Department of Education to investigate and resolve allegations of dishonest or fraudulent activity by LCCC, including the provision of false or misleading information.
