What is an Associate Degree in Social Work?
This program is designed for students preparing to enter a Bachelor’s degree program in social work. Social workers perform work in three major areas: child, family and schools’ medical and public health; and mental health and substance abuse. This program offers the coursework that addresses the values, knowledge, and skills to help people obtain services; council individuals, families, and groups; help communities improve social and health services and pursue social justice by participating in the legislative process.
Social Work Courses
Your social work courses will prepare you for success in either a future career or when pursuing a four-year degree. In this program, you’ll take classes like:

Bachelor’s Transfer Schools
Pennsylvania offers statewide program-to-program articulation. This allows students who graduate with specific associate degrees to transfer as juniors into a bachelor’s degree program in a similar field of study at a participating four-year college.
