Schnecksville, Pa., Oct. 30, 2023 – Select high school juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to learn about taking the next step at Lehigh Carbon Community College’s Carbon College and Career Opportunity Day on Friday, Nov. 3, at the LCCC Morgan Center in Tamaqua.

Students will visit and tour the Morgan Center, explore a variety of interest areas, network with mentors from Carbon County businesses and learn about the college application process.

The program is funded by a grant from the First Federal Community Foundation and is a project of the Carbon Chamber and Economic Development Corporation’s Business and Education Partnership. A total of 50 students from Carbon Career and Technical Institute, Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, Panther Valley and Palmerton, as well as their counselors, will visit the Morgan Center for breakout sessions and networking with local employers.

The day begins with a welcome and registration at 9 a.m., followed by an alumni speaker and breakout sessions from 9:45 to 11:20 a.m. Following a networking luncheon, students will be able to talk with admissions and financial aid representatives. The event will conclude at 1:30 p.m.
